3,000 COALITION MEMBERS GROWING STRONG
Common Sense San Joaquin is standing up for families, seniors, small business owners and farmers. We are gathering facts and sharing information about issues important to you.
In order to take over electric service in and around Ripon, Manteca and Escalon, the South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) will either have to increase our electric rates or put hundreds of millions of public dollars at risk. †But with massive budget deficits at all levels of government, we believe now is not the time to risk higher electric rates and fewer jobs.
Teachers are losing their jobs, families are finding it hard to make ends meet and local cities in our county are cutting back on vital police and fire services. Now is not the time for SSJID to enter into such a high-stakes risk with our tax dollars. SSJID’s plan puts all residents and small businesses in San Joaquin County at risk. Join the coalition today!
